1973 "34 years ago", Jutta Beiersdorff recalls "it was far from obvious I would head one of the leading specialised agencies for the EDV-industry (as it was called in those days). So the Peggy baby buggy contract was a nice challenge as well as an example of how to cerate modern ads for these kinds of products. Today I wonder how many of the babies pushed through the streets of an ideal world in these luxury models are getting blisters on their feet nowadays working CeBIT as executives or sales professionals."

1976 Microsoft's founding year found 'Billi', then a small, shy boy, not being given due credit. But who could have guessed? For Beiersdorff, the move to our current location in Brunhildenstraße 32 right next to the Nymphenburg palace was much more important. Jutta Beiersdorff had cast an eye on this house 16 years before, without then having a clear idea what for. |
1979 Having grown to 5 employees, agency Beiersdorff receives an interesting job: the build-up of the Norwegian computer industries image in Germany, including all fairs activities and press work. "Systems" sees our all-time high in fairs construction for a single event: 13 booths, six of which are located in hall 3. |
1984 Sirius Computer morphs into Victor Computer. In this year, Victor holds the first big promotion event during "Systems". Directed by Beiersdorff, it features Chris Howland and TV celebrity Alfred Biolek and constitutes a first for the industry. Because mentally, it's strategists are not yet aware of the mainstream market. Backed by an incredible budget of 100.000 Marks, the products make good their market introduction anyway.
1991 This years big merger: AT&T buys NCR. Somewhat more on a local level: DR DOS, introduced on September 6th, quickly becomes the favourite product of the trade press. Unfortunately Beiersdorff loses this customer shortly afterwards when Novell buys Digital Research. A young woman is responsible for a rather big resonance within the trade press this year: Ulli Pfeiffer (today Billon) takes the chair as the youngest manageress of Micrografx in Germany. The TexMex tent on the Systems, a joint 'baby' of Micrografx and Beiersdorff, ensures that the manufacturer of graphics software is instantly well known. The catchword for this is invented somewhat later: Infotainment. |

1993 20 years - a new logo was long overdue. Our heated discussions were further proof that developing for yourself is always more demanding than working for others.
Quite a few eyebrows are raised when 'cookie manager' Louis Gerstner takes the helm at IBM. But success proves him right. A good executive does not necessarily have to know every bit by heart!
The agency flies the kite of the multimedia info market together with the Munich fair on the Systems in hall 22.
The NetWare-Company joins the list of Beiersdorff customers on this fair. |
1998 The next Beiersdorff anniversary year, celebrated with a new website, webcam and naturally a huge party, has another sensation: Compaq takes over DEC.

2003 Amid a slow regrouping of the IT industry after the dot-com bust, Beiersdorff celebrates it's 30th anniversary. The number of good news is slowly growing: the iPod's success (introduced in 2001) and Google's ipo are the first signs of a resurgence.
